The Center
for Student Coastal Research engages students in the
examination of coastal watershed issues in and around our Southeastern Massachusetts community. Students not only collect and analyze water quality data needed by local government, they come to understand their coastal habitat in the context of our larger watershed.
Getting students to view their home as part of a watershed gives them the ability to understand complex regional issues in the context of watershed science and politics, educates
students in environmental sciences, encourages
environmental awareness, and promotes
activism.
